Muskogee Area Human Resource Association Chapter # 0273 P O Box 2981 – Muskogee, OK 74402 MINUTES OF REGULAR CHAPTER MEETING June 13, 2014, 12:00pm - 1:00pm Cowboy’s Bar-B-Q Restaurant 401 N. York St. - Muskogee, OK Members: Jane Buffington, Deborah Busch, Joshua Cotton, Kelly Epperson, Ryan Davis, Fran Johnson, Darryl Maggard, Ramona Mays, Kimberly McClure, Wendi Mendenhall, Laura O’Bannon, Barnetta Pofahl, Leshay Rhodes, Debbie Sparks, Jennifer Tapia, Pamela Webb, Victoria Williamson. Guests: Kelley Hamm and Tonya Elkins from James Hodge Toyota, Mike Crawford and Mike Lippmann from the Muskogee Police Department, and Jack Callison from the 911 Center. Call to Order & Chapter Business: The meeting was called to order by President, Kelly Epperson at 12:00 p.m. Review and Approval of April Minutes and Treasurer’s Report The minutes of the April meeting were presented for approval. Vickie Williamson made a motion to approve the minutes as presented and Joshua Cotton seconded the motion. The motion carried and the minutes were approved as written. The Treasurer’s Report for April and May were presented for approval. Pamela Webb made a motion to approve the treasure’s report and Joshua Cotton seconded the motion. The motion carried and the treasure’s report was approved as presented. The chapter has funds of $8,852.62 as of 5/30/2014. Chapter Business: President, Kelly Epperson announced that the Chapter received the Silver Shape award. Members reviewed the amended bylaws and Kelly reviewed the changes. Pam Webb made the motion to accept the bylaws as amended. Vickie Williamson seconded the motion and the motion carried. Kelly took a member vote and the motion passes unanimously. Kelly reminded everyone about the 4th Annual Read to Work Conference & Expo. It will be Friday, October 24, 2014 at Remington Park in Oklahoma City from 8:00 am till 4:00 pm. Also, the Office of Civil Rights Enforcement (OCRE) will be holding an event in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Title VIII on July 24th from 8:00 to 5:00 at the Cultural Center; may be free of Charge. Wendi Mendenhall announced to the group that the “Elevate Youth” program is open to everyone. There is a charge of $20.00 per youth. It will take place June 26th at the Civil Center. Ryan Davis announced his hiring event at Broken Arrow. It will be a partnership between the VA and OK workforce. Kelly introduced guest speaker Darrel Maggard from the 911 Center to discuss the challenges of calling 911 from the workplace. Mike Crawford and Mike Lippmann gave a brief overview of the Office response program for active shooters. Kelly thanked everyone for coming and reminded members of the July11, 2014, meeting at Cowboys. Adjournment: With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:00.
