This is a Do-It-Yourself type of class. The books walk you through step by step as to what to do. So, book is absolutely necessary. The books are supposed to be in the Campus bookstore before the start of the Maymester. If you wish to use the computers on GSW campus, both these software are installed on computers in following locations on GSW campus: 1. CWH Room 105 Open Lab in Department of Computer Science (Crawford Wheatley Hall) 2. CWH Room 221 (this is a class room) 3. Lab in the Library If you are not on campus, then you need to have both these software installed on your computer. Publisher 2010 is part of Microsoft Office. I can give you copy of the Expression Web 3 to install on your computer. Anyone who needs Expression Web 3 can download it form the following URL. Go to the URL http://gsw.edu/Academics/Schools-and-Departments/School-of-Computing-andMathematics/Departments/Computer-Science/Degree-Programs/index Go to the bottom of the page. Locate and download the Expression Web 3. To install Expression Web 3: Unzip the file you downloaded and save it on your computer. Then open the folder and double click on setup.exe (application). Follow the instructions. With all default selection, go ahead and install it. It should take just couple minutes to install. GAVIEW SUPPORT The GAVIEW will be the platform for us to interact, post discussions, and send/receive emails. You will regularly login to GAVIEW to get course related information. CATALOG DESCRIPTION CIS 2000 – Desktop Publishing & Multimedia Presentation - This course is developed to give students the skills in combining text and graphics on a page in a variety of formats using a desktop publishing software package. The multimedia styles covered include the use of text, sound, still images, animation, and video. An extensive hands-on approach using an authoring language, presentation software and multimedia will allow the student to develop effective multimedia presentations.
