Philip Greifeld Appointed CEO of Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen
Brings 15 Years of Industry Experience to Nation’s Second-Largest Seafood Chain
NASHVILLE, TN – August 23, 2010 – Captain D’s Seafood Kitchen, the second largest quick service
seafood chain in the United States, today announced that it has appointed Philip M. Greifeld as Chief
Executive Officer, effective September 13. Greifeld succeeds David Head, who left the company to
pursue other interests.
Greifeld, a seasoned industry veteran with more than 20 years of leadership experience in the restaurant
and retail industries and a strong finance background, joins Captain D’s from Huddle House restaurants –
a 420-unit casual dining restaurant chain where he was Chief Executive Officer and President for the past
10 years, following Chief Administrative and Chief Financial Officer positions at the company. As CEO of
Huddle House, Greifeld was instrumental in redefining and enhancing the chain’s brand value,
significantly improving its overall performance and able to draw on extensive operational and strategic
experience including food distribution, logistics and procurement. Under his leadership, the company
more than doubled its revenues and market presence.
Prior to Huddle House, Greifeld was a Vice-President, Finance, with Douglass & Waters, Inc., a retail
home furnishing company he co-founded and successfully sold. Greifeld started his career with TFW,
Inc., a 29-store retail chain.
