Vinohradská Street in Prague Will Get a Newly Repaired Sidewalk
The Vinohradská Street in Prague will get one of its sidewalks newly repaired. The money
needed for repair works will be provided by Citibank on the occasion of opening up its new
branch located on this busy avenue.
“We not only want to offer our one-in-class financial
services, but, we also seek to give financial support to people living in the neighborhood of
every new place where we come to do our business. This project of repairing a sidewalk on
Vinohradská Street has, out of a couple of other options, been chosen in a public poll by the very
people who live in the Vinohrady neighborhood,“ said Pavel Kusý, head of Citibank Marketing
Communication.
Some five thousand people living in the Vinohrady district participated in a poll that was carried in
June. They could either select one out of three projects earmarked beforehand or, they could
suggest a project of their own, seeking some improvement to be made in their neighborhood. In
the end, a majority of respondents tended to prefer the winning project. “Repair works at a
portion of the sidewalk at the corner where Vinohradská St. meets Anny Letenské St. will,
following an agreement reached with the Prague 2 Town Hall, begin before the year’s end and,
the project will be financed in full by Citibank,“ Kusý added.
Citi’s new branch on 32 Vinohradská Street is the first one out of a total of five new places of
business to be opened by Citibank in Prague this year. All of the new branches will, quite
uniquely, stay open for business for 12 hours a day. “It’s another thing by which we try to reach
out to our customers. We know that in the Capital people tend to work long hours and, so we
want to make their coming to our bank as much convenient as possible for them,“ Kusý said.
Citibank has decided to enhance its branch network in Prague because of the City’s highest
presence and concentration of the Bank’s potential retail banking customers to whom Citi, a
member of the world’s largest financial services provider, can offer its one-in-class products and
services. “Almost a half of Prague’s households have their net monthly income in excess of
CZK 30 thousand. Those people are going to impose higher and higher requirements as far as
respective quality of banking services is concerned and, our aim at Citibank is to open up a door
for them leading to banking services and products of the top-class level,“ added Kusý.
