(NYSE symbol: C) 7th April 2006 Citibank Will Accede to the Code of Conduct on Relations Between Banks and Clients Prague - The Board of Directors of Citibank a.s. has approved the accession of Citibank a.s. to the Code of Conduct on Relations Between Banks and Clients. Thus, Citibank has become one of other financial institutions that will guarantee to their clients its adherence to any and all provisions contained therein. The Board of Directors of Citibank a.s. adopted its decision to accede to the Code on March 27, 2006. By the accession, Citibank commits itself to observance of this Standard drafted by the Czech Banking Association. “Endorsed by Citibank are any and all initiatives that are aimed to make the Czech banking market as well as relations between clients and banks fully transparent. The bulk of the provisions that are contained in the Code have always been viewed by us as perfectly standing to reason and, their requirements have formed an integral part of our services already,“ said Javed Kureishi, Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of Citibank a.s. In the number of cases, the Bank has provided its services beyond the framework of the minimum standards that are required under the Code. Implementation of some of the Code’s provisions, however, will call for certain time before the same can be applied into practice. For this reason, Citibank a.s. undertakes to be in observance of all of the Code’s requirements and provisions not later than by June 30, 2006. The Code of Conduct has the form of a Standard issued by the Czech Banking Association. Its primary rationale is to provide clients with sufficient access to information and, to maintain vis a vis its clients the highest standard of ethics they can rely on at any time. Under the Code of Conduct on Relations between Banks and Clients, clients are namely guaranteed a right of information about various services and products, about the pricing thereof or, for example, about any modifications made to the business conditions.
