Investment Assignment
Date: Wednesday, November 20, 2013 – In-class presentations
Purpose: To research and present one investment strategy that is assigned to you by your teacher.
Students will research in groups of 3 to create a handout to present to the rest of the class regarding this
investment strategy.
The choices are:
1. Savings Bonds
3. TFSAs (Tax-Free Savings Accounts)
5. RESPs (Registered Education Savings Plan)
7. Stocks

RRSPs (Registered Retirement Savings Plans)
Workplace Pensions or Savings Plans
Mutual Funds
Each group is responsible for answering the following questions:
1. What is the investment strategy? Provide a brief description.
2. Where can it be purchased?
3. Are there any fees or costs associated with this investment?
4. How cashable (liquid) is it? (ie. How easily can you convert the investment to cash?)
5. What is the level of risk?
6. What investment knowledge, if any, is required?
7. Would this investment be used for long-term or short-term financial goals? Provide an example.
The handout must contain the answers to all of the above-listed questions GIVEN IN YOUR OWN WORDS.
It may also contain any additional information that is relevant.
The presentation must answer each of the above-listed questions in a creative way. Each person must
participate equally in the presentation. The presentation must be done using Glogster.
