CP Biology Classification Project - Mrs. Cromwell
The 6 Kingdoms of Living Things
Date Due: Thursday May 17th (late projects will receive a 10 point deduction for
each day late)
Work Days: Tuesday and Wednesday
Assignment: You will create a classification chart representing organisms of at least
1 of the 6 different kingdoms of living things.
Project Ideas:
- Poster
- Mobile
- Flow Chart
- Concept Map/Web
- An idea of your own? See me for approval.
Requirements: All projects except for the mobile require at least 15 organisms. If
you choose to create a mobile, 12 organisms are required. The pictures come from
magazines or computer images (in color if possible). The classification levels from
Kingdom to Specific epithet are required. The guide in the back of your book
(Appendix E) includes from kingdom to order (usually). You will have to do research
on your own to identify the family, genus, and specific epithet. This may have to be
homework because computer use is limited during class time. Remember…write the
scientific names correctly!
Grading: 40 points total, see grading rubric on the back
*You must include a copy of the grading rubric with your project when it is
turned in.
