The Mission of the Eden Volley ball Club is to provide top-notch competition and training
opportunities for athletes interested in improving their volleyball skills, to allow for greater
development of boys volleyball throughout Western New York, and also to provide the best
opportunities and exposure for those athletes wishing to continue competing at the collegiate level.
We are proud to have Eden VBC members who have played at Division I schools such as BYU, Penn
State, USC, Ohio State, Long Beach, Ball State, IPFW, Rutgers, Hawaii, Cal State Northridge, and George
Mason. We have also had many members go on to distinguished playing careers at fine Division II and
Division III programs. Over the years, the Eden VBC name has become known and respected
nationally and in Canada and Puerto Rico. Our goal is to provide players with the finest training and
best experience possible, along with some fun, as we promote volleyball as a lifetime sport.
Team selection is competitive. Those selected are expected to represent the Club as requested, and
participate in all activities and events scheduled by the Club. Players will be placed on a team
primarily based upon ability, at times even over consideration of a player's age. Where the Club has
two teams for the same age group, the formation of those teams will be based primarily on players’
abilities and skills.
Official Club practices usually begin in December and run until the USA Junior National Championships
in the first week in July. Practices will last 2 hours, and be held on Wednesday, Thursdays and Fridays
at the BNCC in West Seneca and some Sundays at Eden Jr. / Sr. High School. Additional weekday
practices may be held later on in the season at various sites. Teams will be provided with detailed
monthly schedules.
The travel component of the Eden VBC includes one to two tournaments per month. Player dues cover
most tournament entry fees. The Club strives to keep costs reasonable to allow maximum
participation. While player dues cover tournament entry fees, as well as uniforms and equipment,
additional expenses, such as travel, coaching expenses, food and lodging are the responsibility of the
player and the player's family and a separate fee will be established. Team members and the parents
of team members must be prepared to support the travel, cost and time commitments necessary to
participate in all Club activities.

Teams will be capped at 10-11 players, with the possibility of several practice players.
* Starting in the 2014-2015 season, all Junior memberships must be paid using a credit card. If a member's family does not
have a credit card, please contact the WEVA Office (585-259-6557). Adult members have the option of paying with a credit
card or by check.
* Chaperones and Team Reps should register as "Supporters Affiliated With A Junior Club."
Please note that all of the tourney entry fees have been included (including Nationals) and
court rental fees but the Qualifiers have not! Only a smaller left over portion of entry fee and
coaches/team cost/travel/accommodations will be added for travel tourneys.
In every facility we are being charged this year so you will note a increase from last year and
that I have included the $100 (non-refundable entry fee for Nationals).
We must front payment every time we use a gym and enter a tourney!
STEP I: All returning players from last year should have received an e-mail on how to renew your
membership with WEVA. If you plan to tryout for club volleyball this fall you must either renew your
membership or, if this is your first time trying out for Eden VBC, you should create a new membership.
Players should sign up to be a regular junior and pay directly as the sign up with the WEVA office.

Training Players: Some players may choose to participate as practice players, attending
training sessions but not traveling to tournaments. Players electing to choose this option
are registered and insured, attend all practices, but do not travel to tournaments.
Throughout the course of the season, training players may have the opportunity to
participate on a travel team should a spot become available and the player expresses
interest.
