I thought it was India, but somehow it appeared to be the new continent! But I didn’t claim it. It was done by Amerigo Vespucci, another talented explorer. That’s why in 1507 mapmakers named this new world America. But still my achievements weren’t forgotten. Columbus Day is celebrated on 2 nd Monday of October in the USA and most Spanish-speaking countries to honor brave, courageous and skilled captain and explorer-Christopher Columbus Questions: When was America discovered?
