Weathering and
Erosion
Reading – Students will practice reading comprehension
strategies. Our focus this week is using non- fiction
texts, primarily about Frederick Doulgass. We will
practice taking notes and looking for abstract nouns and
verbs and figurative language.
Spelling Week Twelve

Witch, sketch, fetch, match, roach, coach, teach, speech,
torch, bench, branch, crunch, slavery, freedom, justice,
prejudice
Writing - Students will continue learning Six + 1 Traits
of Writing with a focus on ideas and organization and
conventions. This week we will complete our Opinion
pieces and begin a narrative about “My Hero.”
Math – Students will continue working on
multiplication facts and properties in Module 10. We
will begin division concepts upon returning from
Thanksgiving break
Science – We begin our study of weathering and erosion.
Social Studies – We begin our study of our next
historical figure, Frederick Douglass.
