Promulgate – To proclaim; to publicly or formally
Lament – To express sorrow or regret; to mourn

Some people aren’t sure when to use fewer and when to
use less. Here’s the rule: Use fewer when talking about
something that can be counted (dollars, cents, students,
hours, etc). Use less when talking about something that
can’t be counted (money, time, space, happiness, etc).



There are fewer students in my 3rd period than in
my 2nd period.
If you slack off, you’ll have less success on the
test.
I have less money today than yesterday.
