Discovery Education vocabulary activity: cells
1. Log on to www.discoveryeducation.com .
2. Enter your username and password (i.e. username: joeschmoeCLMS6 password: student)
3. Go to “Science Middle School.”
4. Click on the “Life Science” tab.
5. Click on “Cells” and then “Cell Types.”
6. Next click on a topic like “Cell Theory.”
7. Look at the “Interactive Glossary” located on the right hand side of the screen.
8. Look up each vocabulary word and fill in the blanks.
9. Once you click on a word a glossary list will be located on the left of the screen. Use this list from
now since it has every term you need to complete the assignment.
10. For each word you will be :
a) Reading and recording the formal definition of the vocabulary term.
b) Watching an animation and recording the words highlighted in yellow.
c) Watch the video and record one fact you learned from the video.
d) Look at the image that is associated with the vocabulary term and record the caption.
