ACT or SAT scores are required from current high school seniors and recent high school graduates. Regional campuses do not use these scores to accept or deny students. Test scores may be used by some departments for scholarship awards or possibly for advanced admission to selective programs such as nursing.
COMPASS Placement testing is required of all new students. At Miami we follow a mandatory placement policy in math. Students must enroll in the math class that they tested into on the COMPASS assessment. High school level math courses are offered but are considered remedial until the pre-calculus level.
