Administration and Program Development
 Create Career Services program for San Diego Continuing Education, a division of the San Diego Community
College District; work with staff at all levels to ensure development and implementation of all program goals.
 Coordinate school-to-career activities at a large urban high school; create and oversee new career center; facilitate
small learning community teams; conduct classroom presentations on career pathways, write and edit parent
newsletters and hold community forums.
 Manage all Workforce Investment Act services and staff of 30 at a public one-stop career center.
 Coordinate over $600k of contracted career services; assess participant needs; negotiate contracts; monitor and
ensure contract compliance; develop and manage monthly claims and budgets; create, compile and submit client
tracking reports to funding source; purchase materials and equipment; hire, supervise, train, and evaluate staff of
8 professional counselors and interns.
Community Relations and Technical Expertise
 Write, edit and produce grant proposals, workshop materials, resumes, job descriptions, flyers, newsletters,
presentation scripts and news articles.
 Create, edit and administer website for student-focused career services program; write copy; create content and
update web pages using web sitebuilder templates: http://cds.sdce.edu
 Conduct career-related media appearances; KPBS “These Days” talk show, KFMB, KGTV,KNSD and KUSI news
segments and Union-Tribune newspaper articles.
 Proficiently operate computer programs including; MS Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Windows 7/8, social
media applications and online workforce resources.
