Mouse Trap Car by Mauricio Aceves When designing a mouse trap car don’t leave it to heavy, if u do the wheels will have a harder time moving the car. Make sure the string that is wrapped around the axle isn’t too tight or it won’t move. Cds are really good for wheels because there thin and durable. They remove friction that is not necessary so the axle attached to the wheels can turn. There is nothing such as a “Perfect design” there’s always a way to make it better. A mouse trap car is a vehicle that is propel by the energy of a mousetrap's spring. The car works by a string attach to and arm of the mouse trap car. By pulling the string back and winding it around the wheels axle it pulls the string around the axle causing it to rotate and the wheels to move and thus the whole car moving. What forces are used? Many forces are used in a sequence; a mouse trap car’s string when its wrap around the wheels axle has lots of potential energy. When it finally snaps most of the potential energy is turn into kinetic energy, if the power output is quick it will cover a large distance quick. To make the wheels turn also the car you need to eliminate as much friction as possible and to add some tractions so the wheels won’t wobble and stick to the ground but too much.
