Objective
Work in groups of 3 to

solely by the energy of one
standard-sized mouse trap
that will optimize linear
distance.

Main Constraints
1. The device must be powered by a single mouse trap provided.
2. The device must have two axles.
3. The rear axle must “drive” the device.
4. The wood base provided in the kit must be used. The shape and size can be
altered.
5. Other materials from home may be used for wheels.
6. The spring from the mouse trap cannot be altered or heat treated.
7. The spring cannot be wound more than its normal travel distance or 180
degrees.
8. If you break any of your materials, you will have to adjust your design.
