Web Page: http://cdrott.org/ follow the link "Course Materials" Blackboard: http://drexel.blackboard.com/ Text information: There are 2 custom edition books required for the course. The custom editions are based on the standard edition of the book but only include material we will cover during the course and should cost less then the full standard edition. Both books will be available from the Drexel bookstore. • Book 1: Title: INFO 530 - Experiencing MIS Author: David Kroenke Edition: Custom Edition – for Drexel University INFO 530 (based on the 1st edition, not the second edition) Publisher: Pearson / Prentice Hall ISBN: 55047881 NOTE: Your custom book may include 2 extra chapters on Information Systems Development (chapter 10), and Information Security Management (chapter 12). You will not be reading those chapters. • Book 2 Title: INFO 530 - Systems Analysis and Design Methods 7th edition Author: Whitten and Bentley Edition: Custom Edition – for Drexel University INFO 530 Publisher: McGraw-Hill Primis ISBN-13: 987-0-390-75981-8 ISBN-10: 0-39-075981-3 Grades: Your final grade will be based on your grades on homework assignments, labs, class participation, quizzes, a midterm, and a final exam. I will adjust grades based on class attendance. Homework, quizzes and participation carry the weight of one grading unit each, each exam carries the weight of two units each. Your final grade will be calculated by multiplying each grade by its weight, adding the results, and dividing by the total number of grading units for the course. For example: If we have four homeworks, four quizzes and midterm and final exams; that would be 12 grading units plus class participation. Unannounced quizzes may be given. There are NO make-up quizzes. There is no make-up for missing class participation. That is, if I call on you, it is expected that you are there and prepared. Students who wish to be excused from class participation on a particular day must send me email (or leave a voicemail message) explaining their absence (or lack of preparation) BEFORE the start of class. This means that you may be attending class but have asked to be excused from participation. (Important: The assignments on the web page are not in final form until they are assigned -- if you start an assignment early, be sure you re-check the assignment) See the Class Procedures for more important information. See the policy on Academic Dishonesty for more important information.
