This report discusses the PRINCE2 methodology that was, at the time, being implemented in a number of projects within LBB. PRINCE 2 provides organisations with a standard approach to the management of projects. The methodology embodies proven and established best practice in project management. It is widely recognised and understood, and so provides a common language for all participants in the project. It therefore provides benefits to the organisation, as well as the managers and directors of the project, through the controllable use of resources and the ability to manage business and project risk more effectively. PRINCE 2 enables projects to have A controlled & organised beginning, middle and end Regular progress reviews against a) plan and b) Business Case Flexible decision points Automatic management control of any deviations from the plan Involvement of management & stakeholders at the right time and place Standard templates are stored on the LBB shared drive to be used in all projects to ensure a standard corporate approach is being used not only internally but also with suppliers.
