CAREER HISTORY AND ACHIEVEMENTS
The Uniting Church in Australia
Formed in 1976 when the Methodist, Presbyterian, and Congregationalist churches came
together, UCA is a truly Australian church. The third largest Christian denomination in
Australia, it has around 243,000 members in around 2500 congregations. UCA is well
known for its Justice and community services work and under the umbrella of
UnitingCare is the largest non government provider of community services in Australia.
Mission Catalyst, Resource Sharing
2007 – now
Responsibilities included organising and running workshops and conferences across Victoria and
Tasmania, exploring current missional thinking and contributing to the ongoing work of the
Mission Participation Resource Unit, writing and maintaining stewardship resources, website
development, graphic design of newsletters and brochures, and sharing stories across the Synod.
Achievements

Wrote Australian version of a Canadian stewardship book and negotiated copyright

Wrote and facilitated 7 workshops in Victoria and Tasmania each with 20-50 participants

Developed and published “The Mission Participant” newsletter

Reorganised and added significant content to MPRU web portal

At the time of leaving this was the second largest company in Australia, NAB is an
Australian based financial services organisation with a total revenue in excess of $37
Billion and a staff of 47 thousand serving 10 million customers globally.
Relationship Manager
2004 – 2006
Responsibilities included analysing financial information, assessing credit worthiness, approving
lending, managing problem loans and adapting to the demands of customers as required and if
possible. Delegated Commitment Authority to approve business lending to $350k and personal
lending to $525k. Managed portfolio of 300 customers with $40M lending and $20M deposits.
Achievements

5% lending growth October 2005 to January 2006, peaked at 11/77 in Victoria

Won award for highest Personal Lending growth November 2005

Gained approval for a $1M line of credit and $1.5M Bank Guarantee

Achieved Omega Commercial Loans to Business accreditation

Gained working knowledge of all aspects of customer interaction with NAB
Project Analyst
2000 – 2004
Actively participated in all phases of a number of projects including scope, plan, resource
requirements, implementation, and review. A number of projects required detailed qualitative
and quantitative research with results presented to senior executives to support recommended
changes. Initially worked within Global Payments then moved to Business Financial Services.
Achievements

Successful review of security documentation for 20,000 files nationally. I performed all
data collection and analysis, preparation of documents, project office duties for 60+
people across four states, stakeholder management, risk analysis, and training.

Designed a Lotus Notes database, organised and trained 20 data entry staff to capture
the results from 20,000 file reviews, analysed the results, and followed up with bankers /
credit managers to ensure that all issues identified were tracked and resolved.

Development of intranet based covenant management system. I participated in scope
definition, planning, testing, provided telephone support through implementation, and
delivered training in Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Active involvement in process optimisation initiatives which achieved policy and
procedure changes in areas such as temporary excess, property valuations, insurance
undertakings, and withdrawal of banker’s opinions.

Development of Global Terminal Strategy including preparation of Request for Proposal
for global supply of EFTPOS terminals

Development of MultiCurrency Acquiring functionality. I interpreted scope, tested,
trained staff, managed risk, prepared process flows, and automated reconciliation.
