BASIC is a fantastic way to study God’s Word and fellowship with other members of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. New BASIC small groups have been formed and will begin meeting together very soon. Did you miss the deadline to sign-up for a group? Please contact Christy Stapf (cdstapf@gmail.com), and she will make sure you are placed in a group that is just right for you! WOMEN’S MINISTRY ♪♪♪ DO YOU WANT TO KNOW A SECRET? ♫ ♫ ♪♪♪ DO YOU PROMISE NOT TO TELL? ♫ ♫ Can you keep a secret for a whole year! We encourage you to try! It’s once again time to sign up for the Secret Prayer Sister’s Ministry. The Prayer Sister Ministry is a year-long program designed to allow ladies within our congregation an opportunity to pray for and get to know a fellow sister in Christ. Names are drawn at random and matched up with another member. There are many ways you can keep in touch with your SECRET sister throughout the year: cards, notes, small gifts, a flower, or just saying “Hello” to her on Sunday mornings. WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE JOIN US! If you have tried secret sisters before and have not participated in a few years, we encourage you to give it a try again this year. Under the same token, if you are new to Beautiful Savior we would encourage you to try us out! We are planning our events for the year, and would like to bring back some “Old Favorites” from past years. We are hoping to have at least one event every quarter and include some community service as well. Forms are available in the narthex. Place completed forms in mailbox #176 by February 24. Any questions, or if you have an idea for us, we would love to hear from you. Coordinators are: I am the face of BASIC – meet Mark and Nancy Chapin. We were invited to join a BASIC group within the first few weeks of visiting BSLC for the first time. The small group setting was a good mixture of Bible Study and fellowship, and was a significant factor in our decision to transfer our membership to BSLC. BASIC allows us a chance to get to know various members on a more intimate basis, and because of that, our group is always so supportive of each other. So now, we look forward to our monthly BASIC get-togethers, as they offer the opportunity to forget about the daily stresses and problems we encounter during the work week as we study God’s Word in a less formal setting than on Sunday mornings. PARISH EDUCATION SUNDAY SCHOOL – Sunday School this week – The children will start off with the third lesson in the Consecrated Stewards program and then transition into Luke 4:31-44 where they will learn about Jesus healing many. The education hour offering is currently being collected for Heifer International. Since 1944, Heifer International has been working with people of all faiths to provide farm animals that help families around the world become self-reliant for food and income. For more information on Heifer please visit www.heifer.org. Sunday School classes throughout the building have voted on animals that they would like to purchase for families. Watch our progress as we meet these goals with the animal display on the wall as you enter the education wing or the Sunday School bulletin board by the nursery.
