Available from your Work Site Visit Coordinator Course Objectives As an integral component of Co‐operative Education Programs, students are employed for a number of work terms. Work terms provide productive work experience that is related to the student’s program of studies and individual interests. Co‐op enhances students’ intellectual, professional and personal development by providing opportunities for applying academic theories and knowledge, evaluating and adjusting career directions, developing confidence and skills in working with people, and enables students to develop personal and professional skills and competencies. If any of these items are not submitted on time, a failing grade of NX is assigned. If any of the items submitted are unsatisfactory a failing grade of FX is assigned. Student Performance Review: A satisfactory performance review is required to pass the work term. Work Term Report: The work report will be assessed and, if initially found to be of a failing grade, the student is allowed one re-write. If the final report is not satisfactory, a grade of FX is issued. A satisfactory logbook is required in order to pass the work term. Request for a deadline extension http://coop.uvic.ca/engrcoop/?page=forms As noted on page 102, University of Victoria Undergraduate Calendar 2010-11, “Failing grades are submitted for work term reports not handed in by the due date.” If you need to request an extension to the due date for any of your work term assignments, please complete the form on the website above and e‐mail it to your work site visit coordinator before 4:30 pm Friday, Jan. 7. Late requests for extensions may not be considered. A valid reason for an extension request must be given and must be something outside of the control of the student. Invalid reasons include going on holiday, printer not working, etc. It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that all your documents be completed before the end of the work term. The timely submission of documents to the co‐op office is the sole responsibility of the student, not the employer.
