medical certificate or, in case or serious non-medical problems, a formal written justification
(letter from counselors, parents, etc.) For each extra absence one point will be taken off from
your participation grade.
Example: If your participation grade is B+ and you have 1 extra non-justified absence, your
grade will be lowered to B. With two extra absences your grade will be B-.
MIDTERMS and FINALS:
Only under very special circumstances the department will allow you to take an early or late
midterm or final exam. This request will have to be approved by the supervisor of the language
program. If you are a member of an intercollegiate athletic team and have to be out of town for
sport tournaments, you will have to bring a letter from your coach.
