Oracle Singapore and Nanyang Polytechnic Establish Enterprise Information Architecture Centre to Develop Information Technology Professionals 800+ Nanyang Polytechnic Students Expected to Participate in Technology Training and Professional Certification Programs to Help Meet Growing Industry Demand SINGAPORE – February 5, 2009 News Facts Oracle Singapore and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding to create the NYP-Oracle Enterprise Information Architecture Centre. The new centre will provide students and faculty with a comprehensive facility to pursue IT industry professional development and training and will help expand the talent pool of Oracle professionals to meet industry demand. The centre will also serve as an industry forum for IT projects, trends and solutions. Highlights will include: A centre of excellence for Oracle solutions that will showcase best practices in Oracle information management, share user experiences, and disseminate new innovations, o Knowledge sharing around topical industry technologies and trends such as Enterprise 2.0, Service-Oriented Architecture and Grid Computing, o Projects that leverage NYP’s School of Information Technology’s core competencies in Mobile Computing, Web Services, IT Security, Enterprise Java and .NET technologies, and o Joint IT industry/business efforts to design and architect innovative solutions with a scalable, high performance and secured framework to infuse content and services from multiple and heterogeneous data sources. Oracle and NYP expect to train 800 students for IT careers by combining NYP IT curriculum with the Oracle Academy's offerings namely software, curriculum and certification resources. Upon graduation, 100 students may be eligible to attain Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) and Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certifications.
