“Great Wall in Beijing” 2007 Summer Camp
Location: Huijia Boarding School, Beijing
Date: June 11 - July 8, 2007 (4 weeks)
Age: 10 -18
Registration Fee: $30.00 non-refundable
Program Fee: $3,150.00.This amount includes
tuition, food, boarding, airport pickup and
life/accident insurance in the camp.
Note: Airfare, Visa, personal expense and
medical expense re not included.
Features of The Camp
Summer break in China usually starts around
July 15th each year. NC schools dismiss at
beginning of June. Our camp just utilizes the time
gap between our NC summer break starting time
and Beijing school summer break starting time. It
has the following attractive features.
- Study together with the Chinese students
(attend the lessons in the class of the Chinese
students of the same age)
- Live together with the Chinese students (live in
the dormitory of the Chinese students. Four
students share a room)
- Play together with the Chinese students (attend
various activities together with the Chinese
students)
Life on Campus
1. Safety
In order to guarantee the students’ absolute
safety, the school security guards are on duty 24
hours everyday; the video recording system is set
up around the campus, and the supervising
personnel are on duty 24 hours everyday.
Management is strictly implemented for people to
enter and leave the school. If a student wants to
leave the school for some special reasons, he
must be taken away and sent back by his
guardian.
At the school clinic, the staff is on duty 24 hours
everyday; there are various medicines, and the
doctors are very experienced.
2. Dorm
The students’ dormitories: There are 4 students
living in every bedroom and there are 4
bedrooms in every unit. There is air-conditioner,
Phone Card telephone, toilet and shower in each
room. There are professional life teachers to take
care of the students’ life management.
School also provides lodging for parents with
extra charges.
3. Food
Professional cooks are going to prepare
nutritious meals for the students, who are going
to eat in the school canteen with the cafeteria
system. There are Chinese restaurant, Western
restaurant and South Korea restaurant at the
school; the students can choose to eat in any one
of them.
4. Sports Activities
There are basketball courts, tennis courts and
indoor and outdoor swimming pools in the camp.
Campers can also play golf with extra fee.
Students will have sport activities every day.
Teachers will supervise the students during the
sports time.
Chinese Language Study and Culture
Activities
Experienced professional teachers will teach the
classes. Students will be awarded the certificates
after they complete the program.
The teaching contents are as following:
1. Chinese: Chinese phonetics; Chinese
conversation, aural comprehension and reading;
Chinese history; China geography;
2. Calligraphy and Painting: Calligraphy, Chinese
painting;
3. Crafts: Knitting, paper cutting, pottery;
4. Arts: folk dance, piano, folk song, folk music;
5. Martial Arts: Gongfu, Tai Ji Quan;
6. Cookery: Chinese dishes, how to make
dumplings;
7. Other courses: Chinese character typewriting;
8. Sports: golf, bowling ball, table tennis,
swimming, basketball, and etc.
9. Sight-seeing: the Imperial Palace, the Temple
of Heaven, the Tian An Men Square, the Great
Wall, the Thirteen Imperial Tombs, the Summer
Palace, the Aeronautical Museum, the
Planetarium, the Natural Museum, the Capital
Museum, the Garden of the Nationalities, and
etc.

Traveling
Principal Dr. Qian Wang will escort the group of
students departing on June 10 and returning on
July 9th.
