Project Guidelines:
As we move into Chapter 8, World Powers, we will be addressing several European countries, many of which
you may not be familiar with. In order to better understand location, you will plan a trip to Europe. We will
learn from each other about Europe in preparation to better understand the upcoming unit.
You will be planning a 5-day, 4-night vacation to any country in Europe. You will stay in the same country for
the entire vacation, unless there is no airport and you must fly into another country then travel to your
destination.
Details to Include:
Here is a list of the information you MUST include in your project. You can add other important details as you
find them.
 One paragraph on why someone should visit this country (persuasive)
 Approximate Airline tickets for dates chosen and cost of flight (round trip)
 Approximate Hotel costs for dates chosen
 Language spoken
 Capital of the country
 Population of that country
 Weather for dates chosen
 Currency used in your country and exchange rates
 5 pictures of scenery, city/rural life, culture, etc. (Any pictures that showoff your country)
 5 activities you could do or places you could visit while vacationing with prices for each
 Map of the country (hand drawn or reprint)
 5 Historical Facts about your country
 5 Cultural Dos & Don’ts (Research etiquette and customs for help)

You must wear appropriate attire for jogging - no jogging shorts
When greeting other you kiss both cheeks
Need special AC/DC adaptor for electrical outlets
Types of Projects (Pick only one):
1. You can use a large piece of poster board to create a presentation board filled completely with all your
information.
2. You can create a travel brochure using the computer to highlight your information.
3. You can create a PowerPoint presentation of at least 10 slides covering all required information. All
presentations must be emailed to me. You will have to have a computer available at home to complete
this project.
