Midtown Manhattan prepares for the 29th Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival
NEW YORK, NY - Spring time blooms and luxury coops are the backdrop of this year's Festival Street Posters as they hang
along Second Avenue and UN Avenue around Dag Hammarskjold Plaza. The plaza is located on 47th Street and 2nd
Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, just a few steps away from the United Nations and Grand Central Station. This beautiful
oasis is the new location of the 29th Annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival.
This year's festival is absolutely exciting !! In addition to the all-time favorite portions of the festival - stage performances,
martial arts demonstrations, arts & crafts and children's fair programs. The Heritage Festival welcomes special activities
prepared by the Japan Society and Buddha's Light International Association.
Moreover, the Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans is starting a new tradition, the 1st Annual CAPA Commercial Clip
Competition with the theme, "my CAPA Festival experience", the brain child of committee chair, Ed Wong. This new addition
to the Heritage Festival aims to document the Asian Pacific American experience from a personal point of view. For more
information on how to participate, kindly email Ed at ewong@capaonline.org.
The 29th Annual Asian Pacific American Heritage Festival will be held at Dag Hammarkjold Plaza on 47th Street and 2nd
Avenue this Saturday, May 10th, 2008 from 12-6pm. Rain or Shine.
The posters are printed as a public service by the Citi Foundation and designed by Ramon Gil, Fresh Concentrate.
