SYLLABUS
STILLWATER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Junior Bible
2005-06
Instructor: Mr. Tinkham
Course Objective:
This course introduces you to the systematic study of Scripture. We will briefly consider the major
content areas of theology in order to develop a full understanding of the Bible. Rather than limiting
our work to Bible study techniques, we will look at major theological categories emphasized
throughout church history. Our second semester book study in Romans, then, will employ Bible
study techniques in light of our systematic understanding of the text. You will receive a solid
foundation of theological training on which to build, applying what you have learned in next year’s
Apologetics class and beyond.
Course Outline:
The course is divided by semester. First we will consider seven major areas of doctrine. In the
second semester we will study the book of Romans. Course elements include:
I.
II.
III.
IV.
V.
Reading. Our 1st semester text is Know the Truth. Our 2nd semester texts are
Commentary on Romans and The Doctrines that Divide.
Reading Quizzes. Each week you will be quizzed on your assigned readings. These
quizzes are designed to test basic comprehension. You will not be tricked. Careful
reading will produce good results. Quizzes will normally be given on Wednesdays.
