We consider this to be a mandatory requirement to ensure premises staff are compliant, with the necessary skills. The first phase of this programme, for primary schools and academies, will take place in two half-day training workshops. The first dates are on 22 nd April and 21st May and bookings will be taken on a first-come basis. Further dates for the summer and autumn terms will be announced shortly as will the programme for secondary schools. Session 1 Wednesday 22nd April 9am – 1pm at The Elsie Whiteley Centre Welcome – introductions, discussion re role, support available Presentation from established site manager Introduction to Health & Safety course Talk & digital walk through bitesize documents, intranet information Asbestos training/PAMP course Introduction to Compliance – documents required, legal implications and responsibilities of buildings and fire (Homework for Session 2 - review site documents, discuss with manager and bring back any queries) Session 2 Thursday 21st May 9am – 1pm at The Elsie Whiteley Centre Welcome – review Session 1 and progress to date Fire Safety course Fire Risk Assessment discussion Manual handling training and Working at Heights training course Lone-working discussion Compliance session 2 – discuss individual needs following their self-review after Session 1 Finalise work on individual development needs Question and answer session As you can see from the above agenda, we are combining four workshops (in bold charged separately at £60 each) into one Masterclass costing £195 per delegate. We consider this David Whalley Head of Learning Services essential training for all premises staff and envisage all schools and academies will engage during the ensuing year to support compliance. A suggested weekly task document will be given to all delegates to adapt to their specific role and site. This can be linked directly to their job description and objectives jointly with their managers on their return, along with self-assessed development needs identified throughout the Masterclass.
