LIGHT & SHADE: Wall and floor concept with travertine texture and relief-effect
A classically elegant design remains forever timeless, just as traditional craftsmanship
forms the basis for exquisite interior design. Villeroy & Boch Tiles has taken this philosophy and applied it to a new concept for walls and floors: The LIGHT & SHADE
range combines the timeless elegance of the light natural stone travertine with modern,
graphic 3-D structures with a hand-made look that create a special sense of space in the
expressive interplay of light and shadow.
The intriguing structure of travertine was very authentically transposed to ceramic tiles
of the new LIGHT & SHADE concept for walls and floors. The nature, white and beige
hues inspired by the natural colours of travertine additionally underscore the original,
natural-stone character of the range.
The design of the relief décor is graphic and possesses a unique geometric rhythm. As a
result, LIGHT & SHADE fits in superbly with a minimalist and a classic living style
and develops its full impact in the interplay of light and shadow.
The wall tiles are made from nonvitreous. The slim, very elegant 30 x 90 cm large format emphasises the exquisite charm of the colours Creme, Nature and Grey. The basic
tiles are rectified and have a smooth, matt surface finish. The décor tiles, also available
in 30 x 90 cm format and the colours of the basic tiles, sport an expressive relief-effect.
Slender (10 x 90 cm) relief borders, also available in the three basic tile colours, can be
used to introduce additional accents to modern wall design. For more traditional decorations, 10 x 30 cm borders made from nonvitreous are offered as well, featuring a classic
pattern and available in the three basic tile colours. The décor tiles can be laid in repeat
patterns horizontally or vertically. Matching strip skirting tiles made from metallic
beading complete the LIGHT & SHADE wall concept.
A match made in heaven: glazed vilbostone porcelain stoneware floor tiles in the current 60 x 60 cm large format perfectly complement the LIGHT & SHADE wall tiles in
the colours Creme, Nature and Grey. The texture is more pronounced and the shades are
slightly darker than those on the wall tiles. The result is a room with an energetic attractive appeal. The surface of the 10-mm-thick floor tiles is rough-polished. With 7.5 x
60 cm strip skirting and 5 x 5 cm mosaics (bonded to 30 x 30 lattice to facilitate tiling),
all available in the three basic tile colours, LIGHT & SHADE inspires high-quality and
aesthetically refined floor-coverings. Also suitable for use in floor-flush showers.
