EXAMS AND LATE WORK: Both midterm and final exams will draw on material from the required text and class lectures. The material covered in the lectures will sometimes be different from that covered in your text, so you must attend class regularly if you want to do well on the exams. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get class notes from another student. Assignments submitted after due date will not be accepted. If you are not going to be in class, it is your responsibility to arrange for your due assignment to be turned in to me by the due date. You should turn in hard copies of writing assignments. Electronic submissions are not permissible. ATTENDANCE POLICY: Students are responsible for all material presented in class. Bear in mind that students who do not attend class regularly often have more difficulties on exams and assignments than those who do. Therefore, students should attend class regularly and arrive on time. They are also expected and encouraged to actively participate in all in-class activities. A student is allowed two absences from class without penalty. However, for each class period the student is absent thereafter, a one-half point deduction will be taken from the final grade of that student. Students exceeding six absences will receive an F (see department policy). PLAGIARISM: Any assignment found to be plagiarized will receive the grade of F (see department policy). 3 SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION: Students with disabilities should contact the Disabilities Services Office to arrange accommodations and coordinate services.
