This funding is intended to support projects related to improving teaching and learning. Funded activities will
promote one or more of the cornerstones and aspirations stated in Dare to Discover: A Vision for a Great University.
Please refer to the TLEF Handbook and Terms of Reference for criteria that will be applied to project proposals.

APPLICATION CHECKLIST
Please ensure the following items are included in your application. For details of what is required for a particular
item, please refer to the “TLEF Project Funding in the Area of Teaching and Learning” section of the handbook.

Note: Applications will benefit from demonstrating how the project is related to educational theory and/or
empirically validated educational practice. It is not necessary to address items not relevant to the project.

Application Formatting and Limitations:
Please ensure your application is written in layman’s language and has been proofread. All applicants are required
to use 12 point Times New Roman font, 1 inch margins, and single spacing for their application.
Total allowable length of each section is noted above. In the event the limits are exceeded, the Selection Committee
reserves the right to not consider additional pages.
Hard copies are to be back-to-back, three-hole punched, and NOT stapled. Sections are to be presented in the order
outlined above. Exception: “Project Description” should address relevant content items but may be written in freeform text rather than individual sections.
The electronic submission will be a PDF copy of the full signed application in the order above. In addition,
Microsoft Word versions of the “Abstract” and “Project Description” sections are to be submitted.
Please coordinate with your Department and Dean’s Office to ensure only one set of copies is submitted.
Curriculum Vitae Requirements:
An abbreviated curriculum vitae (maximum 3 pages) for the principal applicant is required. The Selection
Committee reserves the right to request the CV of any co-applicant at a later date, if required.
