Named “Hot Farm Team” by Rolling Stone and a wellspring of some of the funniest actors and writers on Saturday Night Live, The Office and The Daily Show, Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company brings down the house and perhaps the whole city with its outrageous sketch comedy. Comedian Conan O’Brien quips that this is “… the type of manic, original, inventive stuff I’m always interested in.” Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company’s performance is part of the 2011/2012 Mainstage LOL “Laugh Out Loud” Series, new to Diana Wortham Theatre this year. The Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company show lasts about 90 minutes and consists of two hilarious halves of the freshest, longform improv the nation has to offer. The Touring Company cast is hand-picked from the best improv comedians in New York City and Los Angeles; these performers are the “next wave” of comedy superstars from the theatre that introduced comedian greats such as Amy Poehler, Horatio Sanz, Rob Corddry (The Daily Show), Ed Helms (The Daily Show, The Office), Rob Riggle (Saturday Night Live, The Daily Show), Paul Scheer & Rob Huebel (Best Week Ever) and many more to the lexicon of household comedy names. The featured cast for the Asheville performance includes Brandon Gardner, Brandon Scott Jones, Molly Lloyd, and Shannon O’Neill. All performers are seasoned improv comedians who have made numerous appearances on television and stage. Brandon Gardner - Brandon is a comedy writer, performer and teacher at the UCB Theater in NY. A native of Saranac Lake, NY, Brandon graduated from Binghamton University where he studied and performed with the improv/sketch comedy group, "The Pappy Parker Players." He is currently a member of the Saturday show "Let's Have a Ball," the UCB Touring Company, and the UCB house team "Reuben Williams." He been profiled as a teacher by The New York Times and featured as an improv expert on "America's Next Top Model." Brandon Scott Jones - Brandon is a cast member on the Harold Team Grandma's Ashes, and Page 2 of 3 the Maude Team Stone Cold Fox. She has appeared in various TV commercials (including most recently an ad for Yellowbook) and internet videos (including most recently "Living with First Person Shooter Disease" from The LandLineTV), and has appeared on "Delocated" (Adult Swim/ Cartoon Network) and in the Comedy Central pilot, “The Fuzz.” Shannon O'Neill - Shannon O'Neill is a writer, performer and teacher at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. She can be seen every Friday night with The Stepfathers, an improv powerhouse of nerds and dirty dawgs, and every Sunday in UCB's longest running show, ASSSSCAT 30000. She is a member of the sketch group Thunder Gulch, a UCB Theatre house team that performs a new show the second Monday of every month. Shannon's one person show "Prison Freaks: A Talent Show" has recieved rave reviews and in March, Shannon was named one of "Three to Watch" by Time Out New York. Howell DDA, PA; with additional support from Media Sponsors 880 AM The Revolution, News Radio 570 WWNC, and WNC magazine. The 2011/2012 Mainstage LOL Series continues with two other top acts. In Shakespeare on Trial (October 27, 2011), an unwitting Bill Shakespeare must defend his writing to a court of some of his most memorable characters: Macbeth, Hamlet, Iago and Juliet, who challenge him to write in a more modern way. The Adam Growe Comedy & Quiz Showe (November 12, 2011) brings the wit of Adam Growe, host of Discovery Channel’s hit show Cash Cab in Canada, in a blend of stand-up comedy and quiz show – where with the right answers, audiences members can win money right out of Adam’s pocket.
