Phoenix Children’s Hospital Announces New Radiothon Partnership
Powerhouses News/Talk 92.3 KTAR, Sports 620 KTAR, and KTAR.com Join Forces for their First-Ever
Simulcast to Support and Grow the Annual Radiothon for One of Arizona’s Premier Charities
PHOENIX, Ariz. (April 1, 2009) – Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation has entered into a new
partnership with Bonneville’s KTAR media properties to ensure the continued success of its signature
media event, the well-known radiothon, now in its 9th year. Proceeds support Phoenix Children’s
Hospital, Arizona’s only licensed children’s hospital, providing world-class care in more than 40 pediatric
specialties to our state’s sickest kids.
“I am happy to have the strength and credibility of KTAR to help us grow our successful radiothon for the
future and look forward to a long collaboration with the very talented and committed KTAR team,” says
Steve Schnall, Senior Vice President, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Their passion for helping
the kids at Phoenix Children’s Hospital was the driving factor in our decision.”
This year’s radiothon will take place on September 16th and September 17th and will be simulcast on
KTAR FM, KTAR AM and KTAR.com. The event includes a live phone bank and interviews with patients,
families, staff, and community supporters.
“Phoenix Children’s Hospital has a special place in our hearts and we are excited to work with Steve and
his team on making the radiothon bigger and better than ever,” says Scott Sutherland, Vice President
and Market Manager for Bonneville Radio. “I know I speak on behalf of the KTAR family when I say we
are thrilled to welcome the radiothon to its new home so that we can help Arizona’s children and
families.”
This year’s radiothon will focus on news about the progress of Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s major
expansion plan to bring its special brand of family-centered care to even more patients and families.
Donations raised from the radiothon have a direct impact on patient care. All money raised will support
programs and services Phoenix Children’s offers to its patients and families, many of which are not
covered by medical insurance.

About Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Phoenix Children’s Hospital is Arizona’s only licensed children’s hospital, providing world-class care in
more than 40 pediatric specialties to our state’s sickest kids. Though Phoenix Children’s is one of the ten
largest freestanding children’s hospitals in the country, rapid population growth in Arizona means the
Hospital must grow as well. Phoenix Children’s recently announced a $588 million expansion plan to
bring its special brand of family-centered care to even more patients and families. The plan includes a
significant upgrade of the Hospital's current campus, an aggressive physician recruitment effort, and new
satellite centers in high growth areas of the Valley. For more information, visit the Hospital’s Web site at
