Sample for briefing July 20, 2015 The Honorable Doug Ducey State Capitol West Wing 1700 W. Washington 9th Fl Phoenix, AZ 85007 Dear Governor Ducey Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) is proud to recognize high school and college students from Arizona demonstrating their superior business skills that will make them tomorrow’s top employees, managers, and executives. These students strive to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. The FBLA-PBL National Leadership Conferences (NLCs), held in Chicago this June, had a record attendance of over 15,000 students, advisers, and guests. Students competed in over 60 competitive events including Accounting, Banking & Financial Systems, Business Plan, Community Service Project, Emerging Business Issues, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Partnership with Business, Public Speaking, and many technology events. Individual or team representatives from each state compete in each event on the national level after successfully overcoming competition at the local, district, and state levels. These young people caught the attention of corporate America as our national partners from across the country contributed over $257,000 to sponsor awards for the competitive events program. Those funds went directly to students, rewarding them for their hard work and perseverance. Governor, these are extraordinary young people! They have ambition, determination, and commitment to achieve the highest level. We thank you for your continued support of programs like ours in your state education agency. We look forward to keeping FBLA-PBL, now a quartermillion strong, moving forward in Arizona. Attached is a list of the 2015 NLC Awards of Excellence winners from Arizona. Should you wish to recognize them, school names have been provided for these winners. Thank you for the excellent commitment you have to education and the young people of your state. Best wishes Jean M.
