Imperialism PowerPoint Project
Task: The United States became a “World Power” after its defeat of the Spanish in the Spanish
American War. However, the country also exerted its influence in other areas of the world. In this
project you will create a PowerPoint Presentation and a written summary about the imperialism the US
was involved in. Your PowerPoint should follow the following format:
PowerPoint Requirements (75 points)
(Also Include Pictures, Charts, Maps, Etc)
Slide 1: Title Slide with your name, period, and class.
Slide 2: Table of Contents
Slide 3-7: Each slide will be about a place that the United States
controlled, made a territory, or had an influence over. Include
information about how the US controlled the place, what the US did
there, etc.
Places: Cuba, Puerto Rico, The Philippines, Guam, Panama, Alaska,
Hawaii, China
Slide 8: This slide should include information about a person
who had an impact on imperialism from 1880-1920.
Slide 9: This slide should include information about a person
who had an impact on imperialism from 1880-1920.
Slide 10: Include a list a websites, if any, that you used to gather
information.
Slide 11: The end.
Summary (25 Points): You will write a 1 page (typed) summary of the information in
your PowerPoint. Explain in your own words the ideas that are discussed in your slides.
