important one-on-one patient services such as dentistry,
family medicine, gynecology, internal medicine,
optometry, prenatal and postnatal care, pediatrics, and
immunizations services to some of the poorest families in
one of the most underdeveloped areas of Tijuana. We
know that most of the serious morbidity and mortality in

promote health in the community in an integrated way
starting with each family member.

Promotoras. We have trained more than 100 promotoras,

CUNA. 2.- Bringing medical, dental, psicological attention
and physical and social development to girls, boys and

Community Outreaach Project where 15 promotoras
visited 5 families in six separate ocassions to discuss
several health topics, like water hygiene, diabetes, cervical
and breast cancer, and child health, etc. 4.- "A Better
Option": objective: Give the community the knowledge
and the tools necessary to motivate them to create a culture
of good health, through disease prevention, and awareness
of social and environmental problems and the impact that
these have in their health, specially in the communities
around the municipal trash dump of Tijuana. 5.- "Healthy
Neighborhoods, healthy lifes": To reduce child mortality
