Dividend Data on Thomson Reuters Datastream
Dividend payment date, based upon payment date - datatype (PYD)
This is the payment date of a cash income dividend payment. It may be a date estimated to the month of payment.
The data displayed is based upon the dividend whose PAYMENT DATE is most recent to the user's request date.
When two or more payments are ex-dividend on the same day, but with different payment dates, then this will be indicated by
the output 'MULTI PD'.
Dividend payment date, based upon ex-date – datatype (PYDE)
This is the payment date of a cash income dividend payment. It may be a date estimated to the month of payment.
The data displayed is based upon the dividend whose EX-DIVIDEND date is most recent to the user's request date.
The difference between these data types is that PYD returns the most recent payment date whereas PYDE returns the
payment date associated with the most recent ex date for a security (and therefore may be a future date).
A good demonstration of this is where a stock has gone ex dividend but not paid yet.
However, it is possible to retrieve future dates by setting the ‘ENTER DATE’ field to some point in the future
It should be noted that dividends can be announced well in advance, therefore, to capture future dividends (or the most recently
announced dividends), the date should be set in the future.
Dividend per share, current rate - datatype (DPSC)
This is the current annualised dividend rate. It is intended to represent the anticipated payment over the following 12 months
and for that reason may be calculated on a rolling 12-month basis, or as the "indicated" annual amount. Or it may be a forecast
value.
Special or once-off dividends are generally excluded.
Dividends per share are displayed gross, inclusive of local tax credits where applicable, except for France, Belgium, Ireland and
the UK, where dividends per share are displayed net.
Dividend per share, last financial year - datatype (DPSF)
This is the dividend per share as published in the last company accounts, and fully adjusted for later capital changes. It is given
in prime units of local currency, except for the UK where the figure is in pence per share
Dividend per share date, current - datatype (DPSCD)
This is the period-end date for the latest dividend.
Dividend per share date, last financial year - datatype (DPSFD)
This is the most recent financial year-end date for the dividend per share figure. See also Dividend per share, last financial year
(DPSF).
Dividend rate, adjusted, based upon ex-date – datatype (DDE)
This is the most recent actual dividend payment. This represents an individual cash income dividend payment adjusted for any
capital change since the ex-dividend date of that payment.
The data displayed is based upon the dividend whose EX-DIVIDEND DATE is most recent to the user's request date.
The adjusted dividend rate is calculated from the unadjusted figure (see Dividend rate, unadjusted, based upon ex-date), using
an adjustment factor that caters for capital changes since the ex-dividend date of the payment.
Where two or more payments fall on the same day for a stock, the adjusted dividend rates are added to give a single dividend
rate. If the two or more payments are in different currencies they are converted to a common currency (the local currency) and
then summed. Use Dividend currency to display the currency used.
Dividend rate, adjusted, based upon payment date - datatype (DD)
This is the most recent actual dividend payment. This represents an individual cash income dividend payment adjusted for any
capital change since the ex-dividend date of that payment.
The data displayed is based upon the dividend whose PAYMENT DATE is most recent to the user's request date.
The adjusted dividend rate is calculated from the unadjusted figure (see Dividend rate, unadjusted, based upon payment date),
using an adjustment factor that caters for capital changes since the ex-dividend date of the payment.
Where two or more payments fall on the same day for a stock, the adjusted dividend rates are added to give a single dividend
rate. If the two or more payments are in different currencies they are converted to a common currency (the local currency) and
then summed. Use Dividend currency to display the currency used.
Dividend rate, unadjusted, based upon payment date - datatype (UDD)
This is the unadjusted individual cash income dividend payment. Where two or more payments fall on the same day for a stock
the following rules are applied to those payments:

The dividend rates are added unless the payments were made in different currencies. If the currencies are different
they are converted into the local currency and then added.

The currency is converted using the exchange rate of two working days previous to the payment date.

The data displayed is based upon the dividend whose PAYMENT DATE is most recent to the user's request date.
Dividend rate, unadjusted, based upon ex-date – datatype (UDDE)
This is the unadjusted individual cash income dividend payment. Where two or more payments fall on the same day for a stock
the following rules are applied to those payments:

The dividend rates are added unless the payments were made in different currencies. If the currencies are different
they are converted into the local currency and then added.

The currency is converted using the exchange rate of two working days previous to the payment date.

The data displayed is based upon the dividend whose EX-DIVIDEND DATE is most recent to the user's request date.
Dividend currency, based upon payment date - datatypes (DCR) and (DCUR)
Two dividend currency datatypes are available:
Latest dividends (DCUR)
Datatype (DCUR) indicates the currency in which the latest dividends have been paid. It is not available historically.
Dividend tax indicator, based upon payment date - datatype (DTAX)
This indicates whether a payment was made net of tax or not. The indicators displayed are:
'N'
net of tax
'G'
not net of tax
''
unknown (no indicator)
'P'
partially net of tax.

to indicate a payment partially net of tax.

Dividend year – datatypes (DY1), (DY5) and (DY10)
These datatypes display all dividends in the specified period (i.e. 1, 5 or 10 years). The data displayed starts from the dividend
PAYMENT DATE that is most recent to the user's request date.
The number of dividends displayed per year can be restricted to a specified number (1 to 15) per year using the following format:
For example
To retrieve the last 3 dividends each year, for a five year period, the correct datatype would be - DY5D3
- where DY5 specifies the time period and D3 specifies the number of dividends per year.

Dividend yield - datatype (DY)
The dividend yield expresses the dividend per share as a percentage of the share price.
The underlying dividend is calculated according to the same principles as datatype DPSC (Dividend per share, current rate) in
that it is based on an anticipated annual dividend and excludes special or once-off dividends. For some countries the dividend
used is a forecast.
The dividend yield is based on gross dividends (including tax credits) where available, including UK, Ireland and France for
which dividends per share are displayed on a net basis.
Cash income dividends (DCR)
Datatype (DCR) indicates the currency in which cash income dividends have been paid over time. The data displayed is based
upon the dividend whose PAYMENT DATE is most recent to the user's request date.
Where two or more payments fall on the same day for a stock and are not made in the same currency, the currency type will be
given by the local currency.
Cash income dividends, based upon ex-date – datatype (DCRE)

Where two or more payments fall on the same day for stock with different ex-dividend dates then this will be indicated by the
output 'MULTI-XD'.
