Please be advised that Shared Services Payroll is now sending payslips
electronically to all staff including Swimming and Aquatics Instructors.
To support instructors with the transition to electronic payslips, a hard copy will be
provided until the end of Term 2 2014 and an electronic copy will be available
though your learnlink emails.
At the start of Term 3 2014 Leanlink will be used to:
 Provide an electronic pay slip from shared services
(no hard copy will be provided)
 Communicate with instructors.
Accessing your Learnlink email address
All swimming and aquatics instructors who have a DECD ID now have a
departmental
email
address
that
looks
like
this:
Firstname.surname123@schools.sa.edu.au
This email address will remain your departmental email address for the duration of
your employment with DECD.
Your Learnlink email address now appears on your letter of eligibility next to your
DECD ID. (refer attached copy of your letter of eligibility)
Using your Learnlink to communicate
DECD and this Unit will use this LearnLink email address to communicate with you
on whole of department matters and swimming and aquatics specific matters which
will significantly improve our ability to keep you informed on a range of issues.
Accessing emails sent to your learnlink address
The attached fact sheets provide a step by step process to access your LearnLink
email address which you can do through any internet connected computer, tablet or
smartphone (similar to how you might access a Hotmail or google email address).

It is recommended that you complete the tasks set up in the first 3 fact sheets
when you receive your initial password from the ICT Service Desk.

There is a mailbox limit so you are advised to check your email at least fortnightly if
not more regularly and clear emails either by deleting them or saving them elsewhere
on a regular basis.
Your payslips will come by email and can either be printed off or saved for future
reference
The IT Services section of DECD can provide support and assistance in helping you
set up your LearnLink email access and with other issues that might arise in its use.
I understand that for some this will be a challenge where there is not a computer or
tablet in the home or an instructor has limited experience and skills in the use of a
computer and/or internet access.
I am sure your fellow instructors and/or instructor in charge can also provide
assistance to get you started.
There is no doubt that the use of electronic communication is only going to become
more significant in our lives and this can be a positive step into this world for those
who are yet to use this type of communication in any significant way.
Parks IC Position
The Position of IC will become vacant in term 3, 2014. Please contact the Swimming
& Aquatics Unit by 16th May for information if you are interested.
Annual Instructors Conference
Enclosed is the registration form for the Annual Instructor Conference to be held at
Immanuel College on 6/7/2014. Cost for DECD Instructors is $55.00. This is an
opportunity for you to gain points towards updating your Austswim Certificate and
gain valuable training to support your teaching knowledge.
All registrations and payments are handled by the Austswim Office.Error! No
