Sprouse Handles Hurricane Hills

Kawasaki pilot, Saxxon Sprouse, handled the competition in the 125cc and 250cc C divisions, posting perfect 1-1 scores in both
classes. In the big bike division, Sprouse exited the first turn with the lead in the opening moto and kept it for the remainder of the
race, taking the checkered flag 14-seconds ahead of Samantha Fritz. In the final moto, Sprouse battled with Jon Colatrella for the
lead on the first lap but took the point for good just after starting lap two. Sprouse bettered his first outing, finishing the moto with
a 15-second lead. In the 125cc class, Brian Kilduff led the start of the opening moto and held the point until lap four when
Sprouse finally closed the gap enough to make the pass for the lead. Sprouse finished the moto six seconds ahead of Kilduff.
Again, Sprouse and Kilduff battled for the first lap of the final moto. Sprouse took the point after two and a half laps. Again, Kilduff
kept Sprouse honest, finishing just four seconds behind.
Sprouse, Fritz and Allen Coolbaugh led the start of the opening 250 C moto. Sprouse and Fritz were one and two at the start of
lap two. David Taylor, Colatrella and Coolbaugh rounded out the top five. Sprouse had a three second advantage on Fritz on lap
two. Taylor was four seconds behind Fritz in third when Coolbaugh moved up taking fourth. Sprouse and Fritz continued to pull
away and the gap back to Taylor grew. On lap three the gap was eight seconds and at the checkers, 16-seconds. Sprouse got
the win with a 14-second advantage. Fritz, Taylor, Coolbaugh and Colatrella closed out the top five.
Sprouse, Colatrella, and Justin Talianek led the start of the final 250 C moto. Colatrella took the point in the second turn. Sprouse
took the lead just after the start of lap two followed by Colatrella, Fritz, Coolbaugh and Taylor. Fritz made the pass on Colatrella
for second on lap three. Sprouse had an 11-second lead by lap four and took the checkered flag 15-seconds ahead of Fritz.
Coolbaugh, Colatrella and Taylor rounded out the top five.
Sprouse topped the podium with a perfect 1-1. Fritz took second via consistent 2-2 rides and Coolbaugh closed out the podium
with a 4-3 score.
Sprouse, Billy Eaton, and Kilduff led the start of the first 125 C moto. Kilduff had the lead by the second turn with Mike Wilcha,
Sprouse, Joey Rogers and Kyle McKenna trailing. Kilduff continued to lead on lap three when Sprouse moved to second followed
by Rogers, Wilcha and Jesse Martin. Sprouse closed the gap on Kilduff and made the pass for the lead on lap four. Sprouse
started the last lap with a three second lead and increased it to six at the checkers. Kilduff, Rogers, Martin and McKenna closed
out the top five.
Sprouse, Eaton, Cory Recla, Kilduff and McKenna led the start of the final 125 C moto. Kilduff took the lead in the second turn
followed by Sprouse, Recla, Eaton and Martin. Sprouse took the lead on the downhill tabletop on lap two. Sprouse started lap
three with a three second lead and increased it to five seconds on lap four. Kilduff decreased Sprouse’s lead to four seconds at
the finish. Eaton, Recla and Rogers rounded out the top five.
Sprouse (1-1) took the overall. Kilduff (2-2) took second and Rogers (3-5) third.
