Atlantic Coast High School AP Honors Academy Course Sequence Students in the AP Honors program at ACHS must successfully complete a minimum of the following AP courses: AP AP AP AP AP English Language English Literature World History US History US Government and Politics AP Macroeconomics AP Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Environmental) AP Mathematics course (Statistics, Calculus AB or Calculus BC) 1 elective AP course (ACHS offers AP Human Geography as the 9th grade AP course) AP exams are administered to students in May, near the completion of each AP course. ACHS offers Chinese, Latin, Spanish and American Sign Language Electives 1 credit of Performing Fine Art during high school is required for graduation. The AP Honors Academy at ACHS requires that students follow the course sequence as seen above in order to remain in the program. Students are eligible to take classes through the Florida Virtual School (FLVS); however, FLVS can only be used as a tool for acceleration. Any FLVS courses to be taken must be approved by the AP Honors counselor, who will discuss the impact on the AP Honors program of study. *Strategies for Success in College, Career and Life is a FSCJ Dual Enrollment Course offered at ACHS. Promotion Requirements To Grade 10: 5 credits including 1 English or 1 math To Grade 11: 12 credits including 2 English and any combination of 2 math and/or science To Grade 12: 18 credits including 3 English and any combination of 4 in math and/or science, a score of a level 2 or higher on the FCAT Science SSS, a minimum grade point average (GPA) of a 1.5 on a 4.0 scale To Graduate: 24 required credits, 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale, pass 10th grade FCAT Requirements for Continuation in the AP Honors Program: Unweighted Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above Pass all classes each year Complete the required AP course(s) each year and take the required AP exam(s) District probation procedure applies
