CARMEL ENTREPRENEUR INTRODUCES
NATION’S FIRST SKIN CARE WASHES WITH SUNSCREEN
Carmel, Calf—Michael Doyle, P.E., a chemical engineer, entrepreneur
and Carmel resident has partnered with R. Dale Lillard of Phoenix, Ariz., to
become a pioneer in the development of Solise Body Wash and Solise Hand
Wash with Sun Protection Factor 15 (SPF15).
After twenty plus years of scientific research, development, and consumer
testing, the world’s first and only skin care cleansing products with sunscreen,
Solise Body Wash SPF15 and Solise Hand Wash SPF15 with UVA/UVB protection
will be hitting the worldwide health and beauty aids (HABA) retail shelves this

Born in the dry heat of the Arizona desert, Solise began as a vision of
Lillard. The father of four children, he was conscientious in the laborious process
of applying sunscreen to them after daily bathing. His toddlers were fair skinned
like him and burned easily when exposed to the damaging rays of the sun.
Lillard routinely searched store shelves and magazine ads in his pursuit to find an
innovative or new product making sunscreen application easier and was
frustrated by the limited products available. He speculated if he could
somehow combine his children’s daily bath with the application of sunscreen,
life around his house just might be less stressful and a whole lot easier.
In pursuit of his novel idea, Lillard spoke to chemists, body-product
formulators, chemical engineers and scientists who study soaps and cleansing.
They all assured him that his concept was not possible.
Lillard refused to give up. Together with his now grown son, Tres, they
began researching and testing sunscreen body wash combinations in his quest
to create a workable product. Their inspiration was Thomas Edison’s famous
quote: “I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”,
remarked Lillard.
But it was not until they asked their neighbor Doyle, an engineer and
inventor with decades of experience to apply his genius to Lillard’s concept
when a solution was found. Michael developed a multi-phase emulsion system
that finally allowed the natural ingredients in Solise to combine effectively with
those that provide Ultraviolet A (UVA) and Ultraviolet B (UVB) sun protection.

The Skin Cancer Foundation’s most prestigious Seal of Recommendation. The
Skin Cancer Foundation established its Seal of Recommendation program as
part of a nationwide public awareness campaign. The Seal of
Recommendation verified the SPF claim of a product. Every product submitted
for the Seal of Recommendation is rigorously reviewed by a committee of
renowned photobiologists – experts in the study of the interaction of ultraviolet
radiation and skin. The entire committee must be completely satisfied with the
testing results in order for a product to be granted the Seal.
