section 074217 - insulated core metal wall backup panel

CENTRIA Concept Series Metal Wall Rainscreen Panel +
MetalWrap™ Insulated Composite Backup Panel System
CENTRIA Concept Series™ Metal Wall Panels are a versatile design choice for wall cladding panels.
They are manufactured with a variety of profiles, metal substrates, and surface treatments, and are
available in over 60 standard colors plus custom colors. Panels are available as hot-dip galvanized,
Galvalume®, or Galvalume Plus® coated steel; aluminum and stainless steel panels are available.
CENTRIA Concept Series Wall Panels coated with CENTRIA's own Fluorofinish® Kynar 500®/Hylar 5000®based fluoropolymer or Versacor Ultra® corrosion- and abrasion- resistant finishes will last for decades.
Highly UV resistant are durable in the face of chemical and air borne pollution, salt spray and wind-driven
sand. CENTRIA coatings set the standard for the industry.
Stand-off clips for CENTRIA Metal Wall Panels create a vented cavity allowing a drainage plane to form
behind the panels; the tight engagement of the clips and their extra thickness provide added resistance
to deformation and disengagement – providing a long-life installation. Panels are also available with a
factory-installed sealant in the side joint for a weather tight barrier installation.
CENTRIA Microline extrusions offer the designer an integrated trim system that ensures aesthetic
control over the profile of visual components of the wall assembly. CENTRIA MicroSeam mitered
trimless corners accentuate horizontal lines. Available Profile Louvers match certain metal wall panel
profiles and finishes.
CENTRIA MetalWrap Insulated Composite Backup Panel System is designed to be used with
uninsulated CENTRIA metal wall panels to create a complete wall system solution. The unique composite
design of MetalWrap provides an air barrier, moisture barrier, and thermal insulation with total wall
values up to R-21 in a single, easy-to-install component that serves as a substrate for the application of a
wide variety of CENTRIA metal panels. MetalWrap eliminates the need for separate batt or board
insulation, exterior gypsum board sheathing, air barriers, vapor retarders, and building wraps, while
providing better thermal efficiency and moisture control for exterior metal-clad walls.
MetalWrap is designed for use with vertical or horizontal CENTRIA exterior metal panels, including Profile
Products and FormaBond. MetalWrap was developed using ATMP ® - CENTRIA's Advanced Thermal and
Moisture Protection building envelope science; it maximizes a metal wall system's ability to effectively
control moisture without sacrificing thermal efficiency. Metal panel wall systems utilizing MetalWrap with
steel stud construction and interior gypsum board finish are available with overall wall thermal resistance
of R-14 (for 2-inch thick MetalWrap) and R-21 (for 3-inch thick MetalWrap).
CENTRIA is a world leader in the manufacture of metal building products and systems for nonresidential
walls and roofs. CENTRIA is also a world-class coil coater, providing a wide range of coated products for
customers in numerous industries. Consult your local CENTRIA architectural representative for design

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
A.
2.4
Rainscreen Metal Wall Panels with Insulated-Core Metal Wall Backup Panel System: Single-skin
formed metal wall panels with metal wall backup panel installation consisting of foamedinsulation-core metal-skinned backup panels, attached to metal framing with specified clips,
serving as combined thermal, air, and moisture barrier.
CONCEALED FASTENER METAL WALL PANELS
Specifier: All CENTRIA Concept Series concealed fastener metal wall panels are suitable for horizontal and
vertical installation. Panels are manufactured with a common lock joint design that permits the
integration of multiple profiles in one system. Stand-off clips provide a ventilated cavity and a drain plane
behind panels when required. Standard lengths are 5 to 30 feet; custom length panels are available on
special order.
Specify optional factory-applied sealant in vertical panel side laps when added water resistance is
required. CENTRIA recommends a complete water-resistant barrier behind horizontal panels. Concept
Series panels without added joint sealants function as pressure-equalized rainscreen cladding.
For vertical panel and soffit applications and other applications where thermal movement is of minimum
concern, Concept Series profiles may be specified with an extended fastener leg for concealed and
clipless attachment. This is designated by adding an "E" to the profile name, as shown below.
If using more than one metal wall panel, retain the drawing designation below for each panel. If metal
types, thicknesses, surfaces, or finish systems differ, add notes below to indicate the metal type,
thickness, surface, and finish for each panel on project.
A.
Metal Wall Panels, General: Factory-formed, concealed fastener panels with interconnecting
side joints, fastened to supports with concealed fasteners, with factory-applied sealant in side
laps when required to meet performance requirements.
