The post holder will be responsible for all online and offline design work for
the College. They will be responsible for creating innovative and exciting
campaigns across multiple platforms to raise awareness of the wide range of
products offered by Kingston Maurward College.

The salary for this post will be £18,416 - £20,117 per annum which is Points
A24 to A27 scale 4 to 5 on the Support Staff Salary Scale depending on
experience
Hours:
37 per week with Flexibility to meet business needs

Vision:
Can you make the KMC offer stand out? Are you full of great creative ideas with the high level technical
skills to turn them into campaigns? We’re looking for an outstanding designer with the ability to be the
creative force behind the college brand to deliver interesting and engaging materials both online and
offline.
The position is suited to a Graphic Designer with web experience, who is keen to work in a fun and dynamic
team. Someone who has a can-do attitude, a strong passion for all things design with a desire to push the
boundaries and create outstanding work.
Main Tasks and Duties:
Work with the Marketing Manager and PR and Advertising Coordinator to devise the annual strategies for
design and production of all marketing materials for the College

You will be solely responsible for all conceptualization and implementation of design solutions that
meet the college marketing strategies from concept to completion

Responsible for producing all customer-facing graphic design for print and web use, including (but
not limited to): event flyers, large-scale banners, print advertisements, college website pages and
advertising landing pages, email campaigns and other creative output

Have the ability to drive and manage all concept, design work and photography programme for
three main college prospectuses and a range of other publications. From managing research and
concept through to pre-flight and working with printers

Provide direction for the college to significantly improve its online advertising presence using new
technologies and social media advertising

Work with the Marketing Manager to update the current KMC website and suggest cost effective
improvements for the future development. An in-depth understanding of Wordpress and writing
skills would be an advantage

Act as guardian of the KMC Brands – including Academic and commercial including commercial
equine, outdoor adventure and hospitality. Responsible for ensuring staff across the organisation
are following all brand guidelines

Meet with college management to understand the needs of different departments regarding
future strategy and use this together with marketing research and existing demographic software
to deliver new tailored concepts for advertising campaigns

Be highly organised and able to plan workload effectively, handle multiple projects, from brief to
print, within tight time frames and to a high standard

Carry out desk and first hand research of the key KMC audiences to enable campaigns to be
focused and tailored to those groups

Provide an in-house photography service for the marketing team and direct photo shoots when
requested by the academic teams

Work with the PR and Marketing Co-ordinator to ensure the weekly schedule of artwork is
achieved by set deadlines

Co-ordinate and contribute towards the college social networking output

Make presentations to existing college students about the role of design and marketing and help
students to market their events.

Work on a rota of out- of-hours events, shows, course information sessions, interview days and
enrolment.

Keen interest and ability in measuring performance in Google Analytics or other analytic tool

Good levels of English are important and the postholder will be required to check their work for
accuracy

Deliver strong, dynamic and commercially sound designs, appropriate to the brand, format, target
market and end user

Able to think laterally in order to create excellent advertising copy is an advantage

Take active responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable
adults in College

Promote an active commitment to equality and diversity

Undertake such personal staff development as is agreed to be necessary for the development of

Terms and Conditions:

This is a permanent appointment.

The Contract of Employment will be based on the provisions of the Kingston Maurward Support Staff
Contract.

The salary for this post will be in the range of £18,416 - £20,117 per annum which is Points A24 to A27
on the Support Staff Salary Scale 4 to 5 depending on experience

Working Hours will be 37 per week during Monday to Friday with flexibility to meet business needs.

The annual leave entitlement will be 25 working days to be taken during the period 1 September to 31
August plus agreed Statutory Bank Holidays and College closure days.

The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a nine month Probationary Period.

The notice period will be two months on either side.

Membership of the Local Government Final Salary Pension Scheme is available.

The appointment is subject to the College receiving satisfactory references which will include questions
around whether concerns have been raised regarding safeguarding or working with students.

The successful candidate is required to complete a pre employment medical questionnaire that may
result in a referral to the Occupational Health Advisor for a medical clearance prior to commencing
employment.

The College is unable to appoint anyone who is barred from working with children or vulnerable adults to a
Regulated position.
The offer of an appointment with the College will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure under
