TRANSFER CREDIT GUIDE
School of Music
This list does not include every technical college course which is available for transfer to USC. You are not
required to take all courses listed prior to transferring. Rather, it is a guide for you and your advisors.* You
should be aware that courses must be passed with a grade of C or higher in order to be considered for
transfer credit.

Effective, Engaged and Persuasive Communications: Writing (CMW) (6 hours)

*If ENGL 102 is taken as a non-USC course, students will be required to
take an additional 1 hour Information Literacy Core course while at USC.
Persuasive Communication: Speech (CMS) (3 hours)

Global Citizenship and Multicultural Understanding: Historical Thinking (GHS) (3 hours)
1) HIS 101, 102, 106, 108, 109, 201, 202
1) HIST 101, 102, 106, 105, 109, 111, 112
Global Citizenship and Multicultural Understanding: Foreign Language (GFL)
a) FRE 101, 102 (equivalent to FREN 109, 110)
b) GER 101, 102 (equivalent to GERM 109, 110)
c) SPA 101, 102 (equivalent to SPAN 109, 110)
Students must demonstrate proficiency in one foreign
language equivalent to the minimal passing grade
on the exit examination in the 122 course. Students
transferring credit equivalent to USC 109 and 110 may
enroll in USC 122 to complete the required sequence.
Global Citizenship and Multicultural Understanding: Social Sciences (GSS) (3 hours)
The following technical college courses will satisfy the
social sciences requirements: ANT 202; CRJ 101; GEO
101, 102; PSC 201, 220; PSY 201; SOC 101
One required social science
Analytical Reasoning and Problem Solving (ARP) (6 hours)
