TRANSFER CREDIT GUIDE

This list does not include every technical college course that is available for transfer to the University of South
Carolina. You are not required to take all courses listed prior to transferring. Rather, it is a guide for you and
your advisors.* You should be aware that courses must be passed with a grade of C or higher in order to be
considered for transfer credit. You must have a GPA of 2.5 to be considered for admission.

Effective, Engaged and Persuasive Communications: Writing (CMW) (6 hours)

*If ENGL 102 is taken as a non-USC course, students will be required to
take an additional 1 hour Information Literacy Core course while at USC.
Persuasive Communication: Speech (CMS) (3 hours)
1) SPC 205
1) SPCH 140
Global Citizenship and Multicultural Understanding: Historical Thinking (GHS) (6 hours)
1) Any 100 level History (Non-US History)
1) HIST 101–109
2) HIS 201 or 202
2) HIST 111 or 112
Global Citizenship and Multicultural Understanding: Foreign Language (GFL)
a) FRE 101, 102 (equivalent to FREN 109, 110)
b) GER 101, 102 (equivalent to GERM 109, 110)
c) SPA 101, 102 (equivalent to SPAN 109, 110)
Demonstration of proficiency in one foreign language
equivalent to the minimal passing grade on the exit
examination in the 122 course. Students transferring
credit equivalent to the USC 109 and 110 may enroll in
USC 122 to complete the required sequence.
Global Citizenship and Multicultural Understanding: Social Sciences (GSS)
The following technical college courses will satisfy the
social sciences requirements: ANT 101, 202, 203; GEO
101, 102; PSC 201; PSY 201, 203, 204, 205, 208, 212, 214,
215, 220, 225, 240; REL 101, 102, 103, 201; SOC 101, 102,
151, 204, 206, 210, 220, 235
Two required social sciences
Analytical Reasoning and Problem Solving (ARP) (6 hours)
1) MAT 120
1) STAT 201
2) An additional course from: CPT 101, 111, 112, 114, 132,
204, 211, 233, 244, 264; MAT 130, 140; PHI 105, 106
2) An additional course from: CSCE course; PHIL 110, 111;
MATH 122, 141
