September 22 – David Fledderman will speak on Jobs with the Federal Government, especially with
Army Corps of Engineers and Redstone Arsenal.
September 29 – Paul Summer, who works in Human Resources with the Missile Defense Agency, will
talk more with us about applying for federal jobs through the Office of Personnel Management, or USA
jobs online. He will speak to the group about getting a job with the U.S. government, in particular the
Missile Defense Agency in Huntsville.
October 6 - Karlton Stephens will speak on the Essentials of an Effective Resume. Karlton is a
Veterans Upward Bound Counselor with the North Alabama Center for Excellence, and has regularly
participated with the St. Joseph the Worker Job Club.
October 13 - Jennifer McDougal, Senior Workforce Planning Specialist for Redstone Federal Credit
Union, will speak on interviewing skills and dressing for success.
October 20 - Dr. Brenda Harper, a native of Huntsville and an Associate Professor of Business and
Management at Athens State University. She teaches a class in Entrepreneurship at ASU, and has
presided over 100 seminars in all aspects of business communications and business ownership. She will
speak about the "Very Basics of Starting Your Own Business....Where to go, What to do, and What
you Need to Get Up and Running!"
October 27 - Danny Hamrick from West Corporation will speak on what employers are looking for in
prospective employees.
November 6 - Mike Fowler from the AL Department of Employment Service will speak on getting a job
with the help of the State, and jobs with the State of Alabama, and how to apply.
November 10 - Judy Pennington, will speak on NAF Employment Opportunities, Redstone Arsenal
November 17 - Thomas G. Scott, Gen Mgr, Federal Mogul, will speak on Upcoming Job Opportunities.
November 24:- Sherry Smith, Area VP for southern TN and northern Alabama with Randstad, will talk
