My responsibilities have included helping plan, research, and write literature reviews for grant proposals; analyzing data using SPSS; creating visual representations of data using Excel; writing descriptions of data for presentations; editing professional documents; and serving as liaison between KC-AERC and the UMKC Social Sciences Institutional Review Board. Topics of research have included the participation of women, minorities, and low-SES individuals in science, technology, education, and math (STEM) high school and undergraduate education; the transition between high school and college; high school and college predictors of college success; and barriers to and effects of 1:1 technology programs in schools. I have worked with the Adolescent Health (AdHealth) database, as well as other large-scale data sets collected from high schools and colleges in Kansas and Missouri.
