E very day, 20,000 students, employees, and visitors make their way across the Cornell University campus. Commuter and Parking Services is committed to providing a safe environment for pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, and transit users, and has developed several programs to responsibly manage traffic circulation and parking on campus. Visitors find that most academic and administrative buildings and residential areas are within easy walking distance from even the more remote parking lots, and that the area’s public transit system— Tcat—provides excellent service to all points of the campus. For directions, maps, and short-term parking permits, stop at a visitor information and parking booth. Booths are staffed Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the academic year, and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the summer months. Alternative formats of this publication are available on request to persons with disabilities who cannot use the printed format. © Cornell University 8/11 25M The university plays host to a number of events, conferences, reunions, and camps. In most cases, conference planners make parking arrangements for the visitors and guests attending their functions. If you receive a conference parking permit, it will list the areas in which you may park. Some permits offer only one parking area, while others may have several areas listed. In some instances, you may receive a one-day “scratchoff” permit. Please be sure to follow the validation instructions completely. Please note that campus parking lots are restricted to permit holders on weekdays (some lots are also restricted evenings and weekends), and others— such as residence hall lots—are restricted at all times. Permit requirements are posted either at the entrance or within each lot. Cornell University is an equal opportunity employer. Conference & Event Parking Transportation Services is committed to engendering an environment of safety and mutual respect for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists.
