Any auctioneer of political memorabilia will tell you that our most difficult task is gathering enough material to assemble a quality auction. That task is only made possible by the acquisition of collections that have been put together over time through the patience and diligence of dedicated collectors, and I would like to thank those individuals who have made this auction possible: John Gearhart for his outstanding selection of pinbacks and ribbons from 1896-1928, and Don Bryce for his extensive collection of Franklin D. Roosevelt material. I would like to extend a special thanks to Donna Goldberg for entrusting me with Marshall Goldberg’s exceptional collection of Taft and Debs pinbacks and postcards, the first installment of which is offered in this catalog. With interest mounting as the 2008 presidential campaign approaches, now is the perfect time to spread the word about our terrific hobby. Encourage potential collectors to join the American Political Items Collectors and attend an APIC show in their area. A complete calendar of events of interest to political collectors is available by logging onto my website at www.PoliticalHeritage.com and clicking on “Resources”. The math is simple – if each of us would bring in just one new member, our APIC ranks would double. As always, thanks for your compliments and constructive criticism. I share your passion for the study and collecting of political memorabilia, and will never take for granted how truly fortunate I am in my enjoyment of this hobby and this business. -Tom French Bid Value Under $100 $100 - $249 $250 - $499 $500 - $999 $1,000 - $2,499 $2,500 - $4,999 $5,000 and up Please read our simple rules: 1.
