Norwood Public Schools Curriculum Overview Accounting 2 Honors 534 Description: Accounting 2 is a continuation of Accounting 1. Students will complete accounting for a Payroll cycle and move into the end of fiscal period activities for a corporation including creating a work sheet and financial statements. Students will use these financial statements to analyze each example company’s performance, using historical data and percentage comparisons. Student will them relearn the material from chapters 1-16 using the QuickBooks commercial accounting software. Students finish off the year with a term-long accounting simulation where each student becomes the accountant for Zenith Global Imports and is responsible for all of the company’s financial data. This simulation incorporates and reinforces everything the students have learned to date. Learning Experiences: Students will experience learning through many formats in addition to routine classroom experiences including a hands on simulation for the honors level. The variety of technology utilized includes the use of the ENO Board in conjunction with software programs such as Easiteach, Excel and QuickBooks.
